Michigan Gun Owners
MGO Membership
We understand that with our busy lives it is not always possible to give time. However, becoming an MGO member helps us in our efforts to educate the public on safe, responsible gun ownership as well as preserving and defending our right to keep and bear arms.
Approximately 90% of what Michigan Gun Owners is involved in is education and the other 10% is support for charitable organizations.

The Firearms Records Unit is responsible for processing, verifying and maintaining firearm records and the associated database. This unit does not provide legal advice, interpret firearm laws, or determine eligibility for License to Purchase a Firearm (LTP) permits.
For questions regarding permit eligibility or the legal interpretation of Michigan firearm laws, please contact your local law enforcement agency or prosecuting attorney’s office, as the Michigan State Police does not issue LTPs

The Macomb County Clerk & Register of Deeds Office has developed “Quick Serve,” The Virtual Clerk’s Office, to help you receive immediate virtual help, tips and information — or make an appointment — or request assistance from a LIVE clerk during regular business hours!

Wayne County Clerk Office
You must make an appointment!
An applicant must complete the CPL Application and return the unsigned form and documentation of the required training to the county clerk’s office in the county in which he or she resides. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, be a citizen of the United States or an alien lawfully admitted into the United States, have knowledge and training in the safe use and handling of a pistol by successfully completing an appropriate pistol safety training course or class and be a legal resident of Michigan and reside in Michigan for at least six months immediately prior to application.

Concealed Pistol License (CPL) applications are available from the Oakland County Clerk’s Office. You must apply in person in the county that you reside in. Renewal applications may also be completed online through the Michigan State Police (MSP)
